Francis Grier is an Associate Member of the British Psychoanalytical Society and a Full Member of the Society of Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists. He has been a Senior Marital Psychotherapist, Clinical Lecturer, then Visiting Research Lecturer at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships. He has a private practice for individuals and couples.

He edited Brief Encounters with Couples: Some Analytical Perspectives, published by Karnac Books in 2001, and Oedipus and the Couple, published by Karnac Books as part of the Tavistock Clinic Series in 2005.
