THE INTUITIVE PSYCHOTHERAPIST
FRIDAY 29 (EVENING) AND SATURDAY 30 JUNE 2012
ABOUT THIS EVENT

This conference brings together psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists to unpack the concept of intuition and its role in the psychotherapeutic process. Intuition (intueri or 'to look inside') is defined as the ability to understand without the use of reason. The capacity to use a sense-perception as an opening for thoughts, images or possibilities that are otherwise blocked may be considered a vital ability for psychotherapists. Due to an extensive literature, and research in neuroscience we can now more fully understand what occurs between two minds when an intuitive understanding is reached. But can we deliberately exercise this capacity to increase our sensitivity and awareness as practitioners and thus develop our therapeutic work? Our speakers will explore some of these questions, and more.

Rachel Charles, Dr Peter Heinl, Rev Christopher MacKenna, Professor Oliver Turnbull, with a social dreaming matrix led by Laurie Slade
